Was an incredible experience! The view cannot be beaten by any other restaurant in Salt Lake City. Every part of the dining was perfect...from the bread service to possibly the very best piece of salmon I have ever consumed. The spinach and artichoke dip was to-die-for! The berry crumble was fresh, warm, and delicious. I will be visiting this place as frequently as I am able. The service was impeccable as well. Clean and beautiful. Great experience.
Ya know, we just had a very nice time. The service was excellent. Linus was our server. The food was very good, and the atmosphere allowed us to have an enjoyable family experience. We will be back. I don't recall having great feelings about either The Roof or The Gardens before, but we thought we would give them another try with this new reopening. They seem to have hit the mark. If you have similar previous experience and are hesitant, come in and give it a try and thank me later . We sampled a variety of dishes: wagu burger, chicken sandwich, oso bucco, shrimp scampi - all uniquely tasty. The berry cobbler was wonderful... Thank you for We will be back soon.
Five full stars across-the-board! The food was absolutely delicious! The service was top-notch! Our server, Katelyn, was such a joy to be around and did everything she could to make our special night awesome. It had been many years since we went to old Roof restaurant, but this new change is an upgrade. From the perfectly baked Lion House rolls to the decadent chocolate cake, everything was perfect. Very highly recommended!
My Wife and I went here to celebrate her Birthday. We had an amazing experience! Our server Brian was amazing! My wife and i ordered the Funeral Potato Bites for our appetizer, and they were delicious. For our Entrées my wife ordered the 12 ounce Ribeye and she loved it! I ordered the 12 ounce Strip Loin and that was Amazing! For dessert we were given a complimentary Chocolate Cake which was delicious. My wife ordered the Toffee Cake and loved it, i got the crème brûlée and it was fabulous! We will definitely plan to come back again in the future! The Atmosphere was amazing and the view will be even better once the construction on the Salt Lake Temple is done.
The Roof reopened after renovation I think November 14, 2025. My wife and I went there tonight. The building is amazing and I love the elevator. I forgot to take a video for you. You tell the computer where you want to go and he tells you which elevator you have to take. Service and staff were really good. We had a table right next to the windows. Great view. It will be even better when the construction on the temple will be finished. Food was also really good. There is something for everyone and every price range. For those who like to drink The Roof does not serve any alcohol. We will go again.
Great since reopening! Good food, service and ambience was delightful. It’s more family friendly now but still very classy. Food was reasonably priced and delicious. Fed our entire family for about the same price as Chili’s. our kids loved seeing the temple construction, the trains and cranes! Make a reservation! We loved the funeral potato bites in fresh made hot honey, lion house rolls with in house churned lemon butter and fresh made jam, the smash burger with bacon onion jam and garlic aioli and the salmon and sticky rice. The crème brûlée was sooo delicious and the berry cobbler was heaven.
After years of waiting, The Roof is back! Sadly, there is no buffet like there used to be. However, the restaurant changed the atmosphere from a dimly-lit, bustling, borderline hectic one to a calm and elegant atmosphere. I got the 47 Burger and it was one of the better BBQ-style burgers I’ve had! The price on their entrees and handhelds are reasonable. Their rolls took me back to my childhood of chowing down on them. Overall, a wonderful atmosphere and service with food and drink that matches. If you’re downtown and you want a place to eat and take in the city, The Roof is the place to go!
We've missed eating here since they closed for renovations. There are a few notable changes: no more buffet. The menu is limited but everything we tried was delicious. You're looking at roughly $20-50 per plate. Free bread service before your meal. The piano has been removed so there isn't live music anymore, however they have soft music playing over ceiling speakers for a nice dining ambiance. The views are still incredible. Friendly servers, comfortable seating, clean tables & floor, and well maintained restrooms just down the hall from the front desk.
